Building and Grounds Status Repor~ <br />Page S <br /> <br />allergies, migraine headaches and sinus problems after employment with the department. <br />(2) Floors: By observation and photographs, there are places in the wood floor on the <br />second level that seem cushiony, spongy and weak. One area near the elevator is <br />disturbing as heavy file cabinets are located out ofnecessity nearby. On the first level, <br />the concrete floor is wavy and uneven in areas, which could potentially cause ambulatory <br />difficulties. <br /> <br />O) C~rpets: From written comments by personnel, observation and photographs, the <br />carpets appear well worn and soiled in many areas. The high traffic flow of customers <br />and employees mutually contributes to the wear on the c. arp~s. <br /> <br />(4) Rest Rooms: Other issues listed here, not already mentioned are commddes <br />constantly running, flushing problems, overflowing pipes, backing up, poor ventilation <br />and excessive odors. These concerns are easily verified by personnel, observation and <br />photographs. It is noted there is simply not adequate rest rooms available for personnel <br />of this department to use. <br /> <br />(5) Elevator: The elevntor has 2R blocked out ns the door does not open properly at <br />that level. At times the elevator does not stop evenly causing an existing gap of one to <br />two inches between the level and the elevator floor. The elevator is not classified ns <br />handicapped accessible, <br /> <br />The facility is leased to the department by the County of Henry, Virginia and the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia.
