Building and Grounds Status Report
Page 2

(A) The facility has a ground level or first floor, consisting ofapproxlmately 5,160
square feet. This space has a reception area with four (4) employees; a food stamp office
with two (2) employees; a file room; a copy/vault room and offices consisting often (10)
cubicles and (13) private ones for employees. The ground level has the main and only
entrance for daily use for both customers and employees. Twenty-nine (29) employees,
working on the ground level, have an average of 178 square feet per person, which is
misleading as the customer waiting area and file/copy rooms are included in this
calculation. 43.5% ofthe offices (10 of 23) on the ground level are open cubicles and
offer severely diminished privacy and confidentiality standards. Customers, employees
and other visitors use the same rest rooms on the ground level. Leakage from the ·
plumbing above the ground level regularly wets the floor in the waiting area causing a
potential health and safety b~7~rd. The leakage is more profound during periods of rain,
but has not been officially confirmed by repair specialists, as to whether it relates to
plumbing or drainage or both.

(B) The second floor consists of 7,021 square feet. This space has fifteen (15) cubicles
and sixteen (16) private offices for employees and two (2) visitation rooms with a
viewing area for social workers. Thirty-two (32) employees, working on the second
floor, have a~. average of 219 square feet per person. However, the two (2) visitation
rooms and viewing area are included in this calculation. 48.4% of the offices (I 5 of 3 !)
on the second floor are open cubicles, again breaching the privacy and confidentiality .
