MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN SERVICES <br /> June 2003 - May 2004 <br /> <br />ADOPTIONS AND FOSTER CARE SERVICES - As a child placing agency, the <br />Henry-Martinsville Social Services provides a full range of casework, treatment <br />and community services for children who have been committed or entrusted to <br />the agency. The agency provides adoption services to natural parents, children <br />in need of adoption, and to couples seeking adoption. · Supervised 72 children in Foster Care <br /> · Provided Independent Living Services for 30 children in Foster Care <br /> · Approved 5 new Foster Care Homes <br /> · Approved 9 renewals of current homes <br /> · Provided 10 training sessions to an average of 20 foster parents. <br /> · Finalized 5 finalized adoptions <br /> <br />COMPANION SERVICES - Provides protection to adults, assists adults in self- <br />care, and prevents institutionalization. · 35 adults served monthly <br /> · . $94,262.37 annual wages to providers <br /> <br />DAY CARE TO CHILDREN - Provides quality day care services for children; <br />counseling with parents and consultation with day care providers. <br /> · · Provided day cam services for 242 families for 405 children <br /> · Total paid for day care services $541,935.3t <br /> <br /> VIRGINIA INITIATIVE TO EMPLOYMENT NOT WELFARE (VIEW) - Assist <br /> <br />· TANF recipients in obtaining employment with wages and benefits sufficient to <br /> make continued, or future, receipt of public assistance unnecessary (i.e. self- <br /> sufficient). The agency is committed to assist participants in obtaining skills, <br /> tr'~. ining, and education as appropriate in order to enh.ance employability. <br /> · 335 average monthly household participants <br /> · 97 monthly average employed at least 30 hours <br /> · $6.10avemgehoudywage <br /> · $152,580.03 provided for purchase of services for VIEW' participants <br /> <br /> <br />
