Earl Lawrence, of 4067 Barrows Mill Road, stated that <br />this change would increase the utilization of properties, improve the move-in process, <br />and improve user-friendliness. Ted Balabanis, of 907 Hunting Ridge Road, and Allen <br />Adams, of 371 Round Hill Road, spoke in favor of the request. Earl B. Reynolds, Jr., <br />City Manager, stated that the reconnection inspection was changed to the current <br />process approximately five years ago in respon§e to two property fires. Aisc, <br />approximately two to three inspections are performed weekly at no cost to the property <br />owners. Henry County does not actually have a pOlicy; it simply follows AEP policy. <br />Fred Gordon, Building Official, stated that 90 percent of inspections find violations, the <br />majority of which are electrical. Paul Roop, EleCtrical DePartment Supervisor, stated <br />that no injuries h~_ve occurred Since the 90-d~y id§pection was implemented and he <br />feels that increasing the inspbcti0n time would increase vandalism. John Sanders, of <br />308 Starling Avenue, stated that electrical inspections should just be electrical, not <br />storm doors and handrails.
