TUESDAY, November 26, 2002 <br /> <br />provided by the City of Martinsville to the clerk to pay for the purchase or lease of any <br />equipment providing such copies, including all related expenses as maintenance of such <br />equipment and the cost of supplies for such equipment. <br /> <br /> Such fee shall be deposited into the account of the City Treasurer, and shall be used by the <br />Circuit Court Clerk's Office to defray the operational expenses of providing copies of papers and <br />records to the public, including, but not limited to, maintenance, upgrades, replacements and <br />associated supplies used with such equipment. This assessment shall be in addition to all other <br />costs prescribed by law." <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall be effective on and <br />· after this date. <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance 2002-13, amending Section 12-50 <br />License Year of Chapter 23 of the City Code. Council moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members <br />voting by recorded vote: Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Teague, Roop, Cobbe, Dallas, and Ferrill; Nays (0)- None, to <br />approve the Ordinance, on second reading as follows: <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2002-13 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session held on <br />November 26, 2002, that Section 12-50 of Martinsville Code be, and it hereby is, amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> "Sec. 12-50 License Year <br /> <br /> Motor vehicles required to be licensed under this article shall be relicensed each year <br /> between February 1 and April 15. <br /> <br />Council considered approving the execution, by the City Manager, of a Contractual Agreement and <br /> <br />new Memorandum of Understanding with the Henry County Public Service Authority relating to the Henry <br />County-Martinsville City Sewer Infrastructure Improvement Project. Such an execution will: <br /> <br />1. Divert all Henry County Public Service Authority wastewater flow to the City's plant by <br /> converting the Koehler and Lower Smith River wastewater treatment facilities to pumping <br /> and retention facilities. A force main will be constructed from the Lower Smith River facility <br /> to the City's plant as a part of the conversion. <br />2. Construct a new pumping facility on the City's plant site to convey industrial waste from the <br /> Public Service Authority interceptor directly to the City's plant. <br />3. Renovate the City's wastewater treatment facility to accommodate the increased flow. <br /> <br /> <br />
