November 12, 2002 <br /> <br />with less than one acre individually could join forces to meet the minimum acreage <br />requirements; Dr. Trollinger replied in the affirmative. The following citizens spoke in <br />favor of the recommendations: L. D. Oakes, of 1713 Mulberry Road; Joseph May, local <br />veterinarian; George Adams, of 1711 Mulberry Road; Joe Higgins, of 1233 Mulberry <br />Road; and Badge Hall, of 712 Craig Street. John Sanders, of 308 Starling Avenue, <br />questioned the City's liability with these recommendations. Chris Koumparakis, of 1772 <br />Farmbrook Road, Ridgeway, spoke in opposition to the recommendations, encouraging <br />Council to consider the use of firearms with Henry County. Gerri Ridenhouer, of 1231 <br />Mulberry Road, stated that she opposes hunting of any type in the City. Vice Mayor <br />Roop moved to adopt Recommendation 1; the motion was duly seconded and carried <br />by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, <br />Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. Council Member Ferrill moved to adopt <br />Recommendation 5; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, <br />with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; <br />Nays (0) - None. Vice Mayor Roop moved to authorize the City Manager and his staff <br />to proceed with an analysis of Recommendations 2, 3, and 4, and present their findings; <br />the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members <br />voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to <br />execute documents related to the submission of a grant application to the 'Economic <br />Development Administration for $1,500,000 for improvements to the Patriot Center's <br />238 acres that are included in the revenue sharing agreement between the City and <br />Henry County, thereby committing $232,166.67 as the required local match for the <br /> <br /> <br />
