June 25,2002 <br /> <br />inspection and maintenance program. Michael Rogers, Chief of Police, highlighted <br />enforcement efforts within Mr. Turner's neighborhood. <br /> <br /> Council considered approval, on second reading, of Ordinance 2002-4 on a <br />request by the Planning Commission to amend Zoning Ordinance Section XlI, <br />Commercial Districts. Council Member Roop moved to approve, on second reading, the <br />following Ordinance 2002-4; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following <br />roll call vote, with all members present voting: Vote 4 - 0; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Dallas, <br />Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA, in regular session assembled June 11, <br /> 2002, that the City of Martinsville Zoning Ordinance, Section XII, <br /> District Regulations-Commercial C-1, C-lA, C-2, C-3 Districts, be <br /> amended, revised, and reordained to read as follows: <br /> Section XII, District Regulations-Commercial C-1, C-lA, C-2, <br /> C-3 Districts, ordinance text as given herein <br /> All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions <br /> of this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed. <br /> [Attachment A] <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption of a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to <br /> apply for the Enterprise Zone Amendment. Tom Harned, Director of Economic <br /> Development, stated that this is a "routine, housekeeping" matter. The County of Henry <br /> Board of Supervisors is considering this resolution at their meeting tonight, as well. <br /> Vice Mayor Teague moved to adopt the following Resolution; the motion was duly <br /> seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members present voting: Vote 4 - <br /> 0; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Dallas, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia has designated <br /> selected areas for economic growth and revitalization under the <br /> Enterprise Zone program; and <br /> <br /> <br />
