2i8 <br /> <br />February 12, 2002 <br /> <br /> motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: <br /> Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered authorizing the Mayor to execute Revised By-Laws for the <br /> West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board for Area #17. Council suggested to Becky <br /> Adylett to review the by-laws on a regular basis. Council Member Roop moved to <br /> authorize the Mayor to do such; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br /> following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, <br /> Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered approval of the City's prioritized list of projects to be included <br />in the Year 2002 Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy and <br />authorizing the City Manager to provide this information to the U. S. Department of <br />Commerce Economic Development Administration. Tom Harned, Director of Economic <br />Development, presented an overview of the projects and highlighted changes. Vice <br />Mayor Teague moved to approve the list and authorize the City Manager to provide the <br />information; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br />members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays <br />(0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered conducting a Public Hearing and adopting Ordinance 2001-6 <br />on a request by the Planning Commission to amend Zoning Ordinance Section X, <br />District Regulations-Residential, R-6, R-9, and R-16 Districts with proposed new R-5 <br />zoning district. George Hayfield, Associate Planner, stated that the amendments are to <br />make the regulations more user-friendly and the biggest change is the creation of R-5 <br />zoning, allowing development of smaller lots.
