Shirley Barbour expressed concern that Social Services needs to assist the elderly more than children. Council considered a recycling report for period July 18 - October 31, 2001. Leon Towarnicki, Director of Public Works, stated that the usage of the drop-off site was very light initially but has steadily increased as more citizens become aware of the site's location. The City's costs for this operation include a monthly fee for rental of the containers, a haul/transport fee when the containers are empties, and a processing fee for glass and plastics. During this period, 29,588 pounds of material were collected.
