June 12,2001 <br /> <br />County resident; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br />members voting: Vote 4 - 1; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (1) - Dallas. <br /> <br /> Council considered Henry County's proposal for an Economic Development Office. <br />Mayor Crabtree presented a historical review of the Southern Virginia Economic Council and <br /> <br />the Patrick Henry Development Council. Council <br />questioned the board composition and fiscal agent. <br /> <br />discussed the County's proposal and <br />John Sanders, of 208 Starling Avenue, <br /> <br />and George Harris, of 1309 Mulberry Road, spoke on the issue. Vice Mayor Teague moved <br />to express interest to Henry County in discussing water, sewer, regional industrial park, and <br />other collaborative opportunities; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following <br />vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dalas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; <br />Nays (0) - None. Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session.. In accordance <br />with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion by <br />Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened <br />in Closed Session, for the purpose of consultation with legal counsel, as authorized by <br />Subsection 7. Upon return from Closed Session, Council Member Ferrill read a draft <br />response letter and moved for its transmittal expressing agreement with all points except <br />board composition and fiscal agent; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br />following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, <br />Roop, Teague; Nays (0)- None. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with Section <br />2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended)'and upon motion by Council <br />Member Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in <br />Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. <br /> <br />Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions as <br />authoriZed by Subsection 1. <br /> <br /> <br />
