April 24, 2001 Martinsville and Henry County's efforts to promote May 5-12, 2001, as "Operation Spruce-Up" in the City of Martinsville and to further encourage all residents of the City to participate in the team effort to make our Community an even better place in which to work and live. Council considered a request by the Virginia Municipal League to submit nominationS'fOr membership'on the VML 2001 Policy Committees. Council Member Dallas move to nominate Council Member Ferrill for Environmental Quality, Vice Mayor Teague for Finance, Mayor Crabtree for General Laws, Council Member Dallas for Human Development and Education, and Council Member Roop for Transportation; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members present voting: Vote 4 - 0; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Dallas, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. Wade Bartlett, Director of Finance, presented the financial report for month ending March 31,2001. Council considered the Consent Agenda. Council Member Dallas moved to approve the following items; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following votes, with all members present voting: Vote 4 - 0; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Dallas, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: Accept and appropriate the following in the General Fund of the City's FY 2000-2001 Budget: 1. $1,500 grant from the Department of Motor Vehicles for radar units into Revenue 01101918-443310 - State Grants for Expenditure 01311085-506104 - Non-Capital Equipment/Police Department. 2. $934.05 grant from the Department of Motor Vehicles for DUI Enforcement - Reimbursement for Overtime in the Police Department into Revenue 01101918- 44310 - State Grants for Expenditure 01311085- 501204 - Overtime/DUI Enforcement/Police Department. Transfer and appropriate $50,000 in~ City's FY2000-2001 Budget from the General Fund Unexpended Fund Balance
