103 <br />June 26,2001 <br /> <br />Wade Bartlett, Director of Finance, presented the financial report for month <br />ending May 31,2001. <br /> <br /> City Manager Reynolds reported that the City has been awarded approval for an <br />expansion of the Enterprise Zone with Henry County and has been presented a grant <br />for the R. P. Thomas Neighborhood Project. <br /> <br /> Leon Towarnicki, Director of Public Works, reported that bids were received for <br />landfill post-closure and a transfer station regarding solid waste. A committee, <br />consisting of Mr. Towarnicki, Jeff Joyce (Assistant Public Works Director), Butch Joyce <br />(Engineering Consultant), and Karen Mays (Purchasing), recommended First Piedmont <br />Corporation. Vice Mayor Teague moved to authorize the City Manager to finalize <br />construction documents, to continue negotiations with First Piedmont Corporation, and <br />to authorize the City Manager to respond to Henry County's request; the motion was <br />duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members present voting: Vote <br />4 - 0; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Dallas, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered the Consent Agenda.
