February 27, 2001 2001 that Townes Street as shown on Drawing S-1 prepared by the City Engineering Department on February 22, 2001, a copy of which is attached hereto, be, and it hereby is, vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 15.2-2006 of the Code, as aforesaid, said vacation to take effect upon the payment of $9,300.00 by Commonwealth Boulevard Associates, LLC, to the City of Martinsvi!le to purchase from said City 'the right-of-way herein vacated, title to which thereby vested in Commonwealth Boulevard Associates, LLC, and BE IF FURTHER ORDAINED that a certified copy of this ordinance to vacate shall be recorded as deeds are recorded and indexed in the name of the City of Martinsville in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Martinsville, Virginia; and, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council, that an emergency existing,, this ordinance shall be in effect immediately upon adoption. Council considered adoption of a Resolution approving an amendment to the City's Section 125 Benefits Plan that would allow City and School employees to pay vision care premiums with pre-tax dollars as is presently done with health care and dental care premiums. Iris Read, Human Resources Director, stated, "82 employees are enrolled in the program. The only cost to the City would be for filing the claims." Vice Mayor Teague moved to adopt the Resolution; the motion was duly seconded and carded by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. Wade Bartlett, Director of Finance, presented the financial report for month ending January 31, 2001. Council considered the Consent Agenda.. Council Member Dallas moved to approve the following items; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferri!l, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None:
