Council Member Ferrill <br />stated, "We all need to remember that this is tax-neutral." Council Member Ferrill <br />moved to adopt the Ordinance [Attachment A]; the motion was duly seconded and <br />carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, <br />Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Kim Adkins, Executive Vice President of the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber <br />of Commerce, stated, "I'm here to clarify misconceptions regarding economic <br />development. Our goal is to streamline services, not to dissolve any entities or take <br />control away from the Patrick Henry Development Council, the City of Martinsville, or <br />the County of Henry. We need to build private-public partnerships." Mayor Crabtree <br />stated, "We don't want to lose momentum." Council Member Roop stated, "We're very <br />concerned with economic development. The County's looking at several options, and <br />we need to be planning ourselves. My option is to continue cooperative efforts with the <br />County of Henry."
