Gene Teague, Vice-Mayor <br /> <br />Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meeting of <br />February 8, 2000. (See Enclosure #1) <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Recognition of the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of <br />Commerce for sponsoring the Business 2000 Trade Show. <br />(See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Mrs. Kim Adkins, Executive Vice-President of the M- <br />HC Chamber, will be present to receive this Proclamation. <br /> <br />Recognition of James Robinson, new Chaplain of the Good News <br />Jail and Prison Ministry in Martinsville and Henry County. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Mr. Buddy Eanes, a member of the Advisory Coun- <br />sel of the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, will be present to <br />introduce the new Chaplain for the Martinsville-Henry County <br /> <br />area. <br /> <br />Consider a report by Lt. Erik Nickell with the Salvation Army about <br />the Emergency Relief Fund for displaced textile workers. <br />(See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing on a request from CFW-Intelos for a <br />Special Use Permit to construct a telecommunications monopole at <br />406 Bridge Street. (See Enclosure #4) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: As you will recall, Council conducted a Public <br />Hearing on December 12, 1999, on a request from CFW-Intelos for <br />a Special Use Permit to construct a telecommunications facility at <br />409 South College Street. There was some opposition expressed, <br />so Council delayed action, pending further information. As a <br />result of the opposition expressed, the petitioner looked at other <br />sites and went before the Planning Commission to request a <br />Special Use Permit for a different type of pole/structure at a <br /> <br /> <br />
