Dallas <br /> <br />Consider approval of minutes of City Council's meeting of October 12, <br />1999. (See Enclosure #1) <br /> <br />II. Recognition of businesses/organizations: <br /> <br />Ill. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />Adoption of a Resolution expressing appreciation to The Partnership <br />For Progress for its contribution to the construction of the Farmer's <br />Market. (See Enclosure #2-a) <br /> <br />Be <br /> <br />Adoption of a Resolution expressing appreciation to Martinsville- <br />Henry County Chamber of Commerce, Martinsville Jaycees, Inc., <br />Martinsville Uptown Revitalization Association, Angler's Choice, <br />Checkered Flag Sports, and Coca-Cola for their sponsorship of Speed <br />Fest in the Uptown. (See Enclosure #2-b) <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Consider a presentation by Piedmont Arts Association, Virginia Museum <br />of Natural History and Reynolds Homestead regarding the partnership of <br />these organizations in marketing our community. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Mrs. Toy L. Cobbe, Executive Director of Piedmont Arts <br />Association, has requested this time to brief Council on this new <br />partnership to promote our community. <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing on a request from American Tower Corpora- <br />tion for Triton PCS, Inc. for a Special Use Permit to construct a tele- <br />communications facility at 900 Rives Road. (See Enclosure #4) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: The Planning Commission has recommended approval of <br />this Special Use Permit with special conditions as noted in its letter to <br />Council. <br /> <br />Consider authorizing a refund of $44,276.59 to Tultex Corporation for <br />overpayment of Personal Property taxes for 1995 and 1996. <br />(See Enclosure #5) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: As you will note from Commissioner of Revenue Ronnie <br />Minter's letter, his office has researched Tultex's reported assets and <br />resultant tax assessments by his office which confirms that Tultex was <br />erroneously assessed and overpaid Personal Property Taxes for 1995 and <br />1996. You will also note that there is pending research regarding <br />Tultex's 1997 reported assets and resultant .tax assessments by the <br /> <br /> <br />
