S. Hodnett <br /> <br />presiding, and with the following members present: Mayor and Councilman R. S. <br /> <br />Hodnett, and Councilmen C. P. Craig, W. T. Turner, and J. R. Walker. Councilman <br /> <br />D. H. Goode, being out of town on business, was absent. <br /> <br />Notice of said meeting and its purpose follows: <br /> <br />To: Mr. W. H. Yeaman, Clerk of Council <br />Subject: Special Council M:eeting - June 29, 1954 <br /> <br />You are hereby directed to notify each TlEmber of Martinsville City Council <br />of a special meeting of the Council, called pursuant to Section 5 (a) of <br />Chapte!' 2 of the Charter of the City of Martinsville, to be held in the <br />Council Chamber, City Hall, Tuesday, June 29, 1951+, at 7:30 P.M. for the <br />following purposes: <br /> <br />(1) To conduct a public hea~'ing to consider a proposed amendJnent to the <br />City's Zoninc Code, l'ihich amendment would reclassify (for zoning <br />purposes) local public trucking terninals and yards and public ware- <br />houses; and, 3lso, to consider pet.i tions to rezone local trucking <br />terminal l)rOperties occupied by the Virginia-Carolina Trucking <br />Company on the south side of Fayette Street and by the R. P. Thomas <br />Trucking Company between the north side of the New Danville Highway <br />and the southvlest side of Bob Gregory street; and <br /> <br />(2) To consider a matter concerning right-of-way on the new Route 220 <br />Thoroughfare. <br /> <br />Given under our hands this twenty-eighth day of June, 195~., at 4:00 P.M. <br /> <br />R.
