<br />328 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />.TImE 24. 1958 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, with Mayor John W. Shultz presiding, was held in the Council <br />Chamber, City Hall, 'lUes day , June 24, 1958, at 7: 30 P.M., all members being <br />present with the exception of Councilman C. C. Donavant, viz., Mayor and <br />Councilman John W. Shultz; Vice-Mayor and Councilman E. E. Stone; and <br />Councilmen B. H. Hill and J. R. Walker. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as read the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held June 10, 1958 and of its special meeting held June 17, 1958. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council approved for <br />proper signatures a contract with Mr. R. S. Foley providing for the <br /> <br />development of property owned by Mr. Foley and located off Mulberry Road <br /> <br />outside the corporate limits, in accordance with requirements of the City's <br /> <br />subdivision ordinance and other city regulations. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a report of the Commissioners of Election, <br /> <br />containing an abstract of votes in the general election held June 10, 1958, <br /> <br />in which Messrs. Thomas J. Burch and Rives '5. Brown, Jr., were elected members <br /> <br />of City Council for four-year terms beginning September 1, 1958.
