L76 WESDAY JULY 9. 1957 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor John W. Shultz presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, on Tuesday, July 9, 1957, at 7::30 P. M., all members being present, viz., Mayor and Councilman John W. Shultz; Vice-Mayor and Councilman E. E. stone; and CouncilmenC. C. Donavant, B. H. Hill, and J. R. Walker. After the invocation, Council approved as read the minutes of its regular meeting held June 25, 1957 and of its special meeting held June 27, 1957. In accordance with duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on Mr. George L. Nease's recent petition, as approved by the Planning Commission, requesting the rezoning to "B-1 Commercial" the residue of Mr. Nease's property not so zoned as located on the west side of Memorial Boulevard South near Sunset Drive. No objections were registered to the proposed rezoning, whereupon motion, duly seconded, Council unanimously accepted the Planning Commission's recommendation thereon and adopted the following ordinance effecting the rezoning and amending the City' sZoning Code: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this ninth day of July, 1957 that the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be and is hereby amended to provide and effect the rezoning to -B-1 Commercial n the following property: Beginning at a point in the west line of Memorial Boulevard South, said point being the corner between Lots #2 and #3 as shown on Section 58, Area 3 of the tax maps of the City of Martinsville, thence with the west line of said Memorial Boulevard South 351 feet to the line between Lots #7 and #8; thenee with this line a northwesterly direction 212 feet, to a point in the southeast line of Sunset Drive; thence with this line in a northeasterly direction 60 feet to the line between Lots #6 and #7; thence with this line a northwesterly direction 226 feet to a point in the back line of these lots; thence with this line 306.6 feet to a point in the line between Lots #2 and #3; thence a southeasterly direction 260 feet to the point of beginning, being all of Lots #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7.
