Shultz presiding and with all members being <br /> <br />present, (v:cz., Hayor and Councilman John \.1. Shultz; Vice-Hlyor and Councilman <br /> <br />E. E. Stone; and Councilmen Thomas J. Burch, Clarence C. Donavant, and J. Frank <br /> <br />Wilson), was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Thursday, April 21, 1960, <br /> <br />at 2:00 P.M., for the purpose of considering matters relating to the acquisition <br /> <br />of right-of-v~y for the reconstruction and widening of U. S. Route 58 and Virginia <br /> <br />Route 57, wi thin the corporate limits of the City of Nartinsville, from Booker Road <br /> <br />to Bob Gregory Street, particularly the following report dated April 19, 1960, <br /> <br />from Right-of-Way Negotiator Harvin L. Hill: <br /> <br />Reference is made to the highway project of widening and improving <br />U. S. Route 58 and Virginia Route 57 within the City between Booker <br />Street and Bob Gregory Street. <br /> <br />As Right-of-Way Negotiator I have exhausted all means available to <br />me of negotiation with the following landowners for needed right-of-way <br />without reaching a settlement within the appraised price of the portion <br />of their property. <br /> <br />A final written offer has been tendered to these property owners and I <br />have been advised, through their counsel, that they individually <br />decline the offers made. <br /> <br />Hr. Taylor, Jr., as <br /> <br />its agent, wHh authorization, to institute condemnation proceedings against <br /> <br />the above-mentioned property o.mers: <br />
