<br />4~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 7. 1965 <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia (re-scheduled from September 14, 1965), with Mayor J. Frank Wilson <br /> <br />presiding, was held Tuesday, September 7, 1965, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the <br /> <br />Council Chamber, City Hall, with all members being present with the exception <br /> <br />of Councilman E. E. Stone (who was unable to attend because of illness), viz., <br /> <br />Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Dr. Fred T. Renick, Vice-Mayor; Thomas J. Burch; and <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Harry L. Boaz. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held August 24, 1965 and of its special meeting held September 2, 1965. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on a proposal--carrying the Planning Commission's approval--to rezone to ItM-3 <br /> <br />Industrial" those properties identified as Lots Nos. 1 through 5, owned by <br /> <br />Messrs. Charlie M. Finney and L. P. Prillaman, property owned by Mrs. Edmonia <br /> <br />G. Starling, and property owned by Mr. E. G. Ramsey, located on the west side <br /> <br />of Cherry Street and extending from the rear line of the present (and adjoining) <br /> <br />IIC_ 3 CommE)rcial" zone along East Church Street to the south line of the tier of <br /> <br />lots, cited above, owned by Messrs. Finney and Prillaman. There being no <br /> <br />objection~; registered to this proposed rezoning, Council adopted the following <br /> <br />ordinance amending the City's Zoning Code and Map and effecting said rezoning: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Counci 1 of the City of Martinsvi lIe, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this seventh day of September, 1965, <br />that the Zoning Code and the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville <br />be, and is hereby, amended to reclassify--for zoning purposes--to <br />ItM-3 Industrial" all of that property on the west side of Cherry <br />Street from the rear line of the present (and adjoining) "C-3 <br />Commercial" zone along East Church Street to the south line of the <br />tier of lots identified as Lots Nos. 1 through 5, which five lots <br />are owned by Messrs. Charlie M. Finney and L. P. Prillaman, and <br />including those properties owned by Mrs. Edmonia Starling and by <br />Mr. E. G. Ramsey. <br />
