Harry Anglin and Mr. Anglin's CATV

franchise proposal initially presented to Council on February 23, 1965.

In addition to a suggested or specimen franchise outline on behalf of

Mr. Anglin, Mr. Stone also presented a petition signed by fourteen local

merchants, expressing the opinion that the operation of a local CATV

facility would not only provide better television reception to those

persons who own color TV sets but would tend to increase merchants' sales

of such sets. Council continued this matter for further study.

Attorney John Epperly appeared before Council on behalf of all the

petitioners who, on February 23, 1965, requested the rezoning of their

properties (originally to ','P-2 Professionalll but subsequently to IliC-2

Commercial!') located on the north side of East Church Street between

Starling and Oakdale Streets, which requested rezoning was disapproved

by the PI~nning Commission in its report to Council on May 11th.

Mr. Epperly reported that he represented all of the petitioners and

that all of them are in positive accord for the IIC-2 Commercial~ zoning
