<br />39 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 11. 1965 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held Tuesday, May 11, 1965, <br /> <br />beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Municipal Courtroom, City Hall, all members <br /> <br />being present with the exception of Councilman Thomas J. Burch, viz., Mayor <br /> <br />J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick, M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; and E. E. <br /> <br />Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held April 27, 1965. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on a propcsal--recommended for approval by the Planning Commission--to rezone <br /> <br />to I1P-2 Professionall1 those properties fronting the south side of East Church <br /> <br />Street, for their full depths, between Cleveland and Starling ~treets. It <br /> <br />was noted that such rezoning would include the property owned by the J. W. <br /> <br />Jones Estate, for which a IIP-1 Professionall1 zoning classification was <br /> <br />requested by the heirs of ttis estate on February 9, 1965. There being no <br /> <br />objections registered to this proposed rezoning--except the continuing <br /> <br />residential preference indicated by Mrs. F. V. Woodson and Mrs. 111. M. Whittle, <br /> <br />as recorded in Council's minutes of April 13, 1965--Council adopted the <br /> <br />following ordinance effecting said rezoning and amending the City's Zoning <br /> <br />Code & Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this eleventh day of May, 1965, that <br />the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be, and <br />are hereby, amended to classify--for zoning purposes--as I1P-2 <br />Professionallf all those properties fronting the south side of <br />East Church Street, between Cleveland and Starling Streets, for <br />the depth of said properties. <br />
