39 TUESDAY MAY 11. 1965 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held Tuesday, May 11, 1965, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Municipal Courtroom, City Hall, all members being present with the exception of Councilman Thomas J. Burch, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick, M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; and E. E. Stone. After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meeting held April 27, 1965. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on a propcsal--recommended for approval by the Planning Commission--to rezone to I1P-2 Professionall1 those properties fronting the south side of East Church Street, for their full depths, between Cleveland and Starling ~treets. It was noted that such rezoning would include the property owned by the J. W. Jones Estate, for which a IIP-1 Professionall1 zoning classification was requested by the heirs of ttis estate on February 9, 1965. There being no objections registered to this proposed rezoning--except the continuing residential preference indicated by Mrs. F. V. Woodson and Mrs. 111. M. Whittle, as recorded in Council's minutes of April 13, 1965--Council adopted the following ordinance effecting said rezoning and amending the City's Zoning Code & Map: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this eleventh day of May, 1965, that the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be, and are hereby, amended to classify--for zoning purposes--as I1P-2 Professionallf all those properties fronting the south side of East Church Street, between Cleveland and Starling Streets, for the depth of said properties.
