<br />3~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 27, 1965 <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Municipal <br /> <br /> <br />Courtroom, City Hall, Tuesday, April 27, 1965, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all <br /> <br /> <br />members being present with the exception of Councilman Thomas J. Burch, viz., <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; and <br />E. E. stone. <br /> <br />"...-., <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held April 13, 1965. <br /> <br />Council accepted with appreciation the gift and conveyance--by deed--of ten <br /> <br />feet for right-of-way to the City by the First National Bank of Martinsville <br /> <br /> <br />and Henry County, being a strip of land ten feet in width along the south side <br /> <br /> <br />of East Church Street from the front of the bank's property at the corner of <br /> <br /> <br />East Church Street and Ellsworth Street. <br /> <br />,-"- <br /> <br />Attorney Stephen D. Martin, Jr., appeared before Council in behalf of Booth <br /> <br />Broadcasting Company, Inc., (an out-of-state firm), in the interest of this <br /> <br />firm's recently-submitted franchise proposal to construct and operate a CATV <br /> <br />system in Martinsville. I~. E. H. Clark, Vice-President of this firm, also <br /> <br />appeared before Council in support of the franchise proposal and, too, commented <br /> <br />on various aspects of such a system, including the anticipated role of the <br /> <br />Federal Communications Commission relating to CATV operations. Mr. C. Harry <br /> <br />Anglin also was present in the interest of the proposal he has placed before <br /> <br />Council for a CATV franchise. <br /> <br />Subject to concurrence of the City School Board, Council adopted the following <br /> <br />resolution entitled, I'Resolution Authorizing Execution Of Compliance With <br /> <br />Regulations Of The Federal Housing And Home Finance Agency\!, in connection with <br />
