<br />220 <br /> <br />TUESDA:f: <br /> <br />JANUARY 14. 1964 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeti:1g of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with M.s.yor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Couw'il Chamber, <br /> <br />City Hall, Tuec3day, January 14, 1964, beginning at 7:30 P.M. All members of <br /> <br />Council were present, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick, <br /> <br />M.D.j Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meetJ.ng held December 30, 1963. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly--advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on the rezoning petitions of Messrs. Barron G. Frith and J. A. Jamison and of <br /> <br />Mr. Charlie M. Finney, referred to in Council1s minutes of December 30, 1963, <br /> <br />which petitions were approved as noted in the Planning Commission's recommenda- <br /> <br />tions of December 30, 1963, and, also, on the additional recommendation of the <br /> <br />Planning Commission included in its report of December 30, 1963. Attorney <br /> <br />Douglas K. Frith appeared before Council on behalf of the Frith-Jamison <br /> <br />petition, and Attorney W. R. Broaddus, III, on behalf of Mr. Finney, who <br /> <br />raised the question as to the status of the zoning now sought relative to that <br /> <br />which might be applicable under the proposrc::d new Zoning Code when adopted. <br /> <br />There being no opposition registered to this proposed rezoning, CCJ:ncil approved <br /> <br />the petitions and accepted the Planning Commission recornm':mdations thereon-- <br /> <br />including additional area recornmended rezoned by the Co~ission--by the unanimous <br /> <br />adoption of the follovling ordinance amending the Ci.~y' s present 'Zoning Code & Map: <br /> <br />BE I~ ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this fourteenth day of January, 1964, <br />that the Ci tyl s Zoning Cod2 and Zoning Hap be a:.'ld are hereby amended <br />to reclassify--for zoning purposes--to n B--1 Businesd" the foll01_ring <br />properties: <br />
