220 TUESDA:f: JANUARY 14. 1964 The regular semi-monthly meeti:1g of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with M.s.yor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Couw'il Chamber, City Hall, Tuec3day, January 14, 1964, beginning at 7:30 P.M. All members of Council were present, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick, M.D.j Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meetJ.ng held December 30, 1963. Pursuant to duly--advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on the rezoning petitions of Messrs. Barron G. Frith and J. A. Jamison and of Mr. Charlie M. Finney, referred to in Council1s minutes of December 30, 1963, which petitions were approved as noted in the Planning Commission's recommenda- tions of December 30, 1963, and, also, on the additional recommendation of the Planning Commission included in its report of December 30, 1963. Attorney Douglas K. Frith appeared before Council on behalf of the Frith-Jamison petition, and Attorney W. R. Broaddus, III, on behalf of Mr. Finney, who raised the question as to the status of the zoning now sought relative to that which might be applicable under the proposrc::d new Zoning Code when adopted. There being no opposition registered to this proposed rezoning, CCJ:ncil approved the petitions and accepted the Planning Commission recornm':mdations thereon-- including additional area recornmended rezoned by the Co~ission--by the unanimous adoption of the follovling ordinance amending the Ci.~y' s present 'Zoning Code & Map: BE I~ ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this fourteenth day of January, 1964, that the Ci tyl s Zoning Cod2 and Zoning Hap be a:.'ld are hereby amended to reclassify--for zoning purposes--to n B--1 Businesd" the foll01_ring properties:
