<br />120 <br /> <br />TuESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 1 2, 19Q.2. <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding and with all members present <br /> <br />(viz., Mayor :. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick; Harry L. Boaz; Thomas <br /> <br />J. Burch; and E. E. Stone), was ht:ld in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br /> <br />Tuesday, March 12, 1963, beginning at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held February 28, 1963. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on a proposal and petition--previously approved by the Planning Commission-- <br /> <br />presented to Council February 25, 1963, by the G. C. SaLmons Estate, requesting <br /> <br />the rezoning from IIA-2 ResidentialJt to 1IB-2 Businessll approximately ten acres <br /> <br />of land owned by the estate and located east of U. S. Route 58 between a fork <br /> <br />of Mulberry Creek and the east corporate limits of the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered, Council granted the petition by adopting <br /> <br />the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Code and Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this twelfth day of March, 1963, that <br />the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be and <br />a.::-e hereby amended to classify as "B-2 Industrial" all of that <br />certain area consisting of land owned by the G. C. Salmons Estate <br />lying easij~of U. S. Route 58 and bounded on the north by the <br />south boundaries of properties owned by Woodmen of the World and <br />H. C. Wade; on the east by the City's east corporate limits; and <br />on the west and southwest by Mulberry Creek to its point of <br />intersection with the City's east corporate limits. <br /> <br />,~ should read 11 southll . <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt and directed the recording into these minutes of the <br /> <br />following letter from City Attorney Cubine accompanied by a copy of an order <br /> <br />entered by Marl~insvi lle City Circuit Court, appointing a Board of Equalization <br /> <br />for the City 0: Martinsville: <br />
