'! r <br />?} 1 -j <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 25, 1968 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Dr. F. T. Renick, Mayor, presiding was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />June 25, 1968, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br /> <br />all members being present with the exception of Councilman E. E. Stone, <br /> <br />viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and <br /> <br />Francis T. West. <br /> <br />After the invoca tion, Counc~_l approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held June 11, 1968, and of its special meeting held June <br /> <br />18, 1968. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on the requested rezoning of the Womack property at 18 Starling <br /> <br />Avenue, at which hearing no one registered any objections to the proposed <br /> <br />rezoning; whereupon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council <br /> <br />effected said rezoning--previously recommended by the Planning Commission-- <br /> <br />by adopting the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Code and <br /> <br />Zoning Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this twenty-fifth day of June, 1968, <br />that--in acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation <br />and pursuant to findings of the said Council following duly-advertised <br />public hearing--request of petitioners is hereby granted, thereby <br />effecting a "P-2 Professional" zoning of that property owned by the <br />late Dr. Charles Thomas Womack and consisting of the following two <br />lots (separately identified as Lots Nos. 15 and 21 as shown on the <br />tax maps of the City of Martinsville): <br /> <br />(1) Property located at 18 Starling Avenue, fronting the <br />west side of said Starling Avenue; and <br /> <br />(2) Property to the rear of 18 Starling Avenue and adjacent <br />to the east side of property used as a parking area by <br />a corporation known as "15 Cleveland Avenue". <br />
