I5H TUESDAY APRIL 11. 1967 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Dr. Fred T. Renick, Mayor, presiding, was held Tuesday, April 11, 1967, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, with all members being present, viz., Mayor Fred T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor E. E. Stone; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and Francis T. West. After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meeting held March 28, 1967. City Manager Noland reported that "trial" service has been instituted by City Transit Company for public transportation along Clearview Drive, Annory Road, and Stultz Road, these being areas not previously served but for which requests rave been made. In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's report and recommendation dated April 6, 1967, Council called for a public hearing to be conducted May 9, 1967, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, on the proposed rezoning to "M-1 Industrial" of property owned by Graves Supply Company, petitioner, which property fronts the south side of Memorial Boulevard North for a distance of 190 feet and is bounded on the east side by site presently occupied by Graves Supply Company and on the west side by the House of Furniture. Also, in tentative acceptance of the Planning Commissionrs recommendation, Council scheduled a joint public hearing (with the Planning Commission) to be conducted May 9, 1967, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, on the Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company's application (filed March 14, 1967) for a "special-use" permit to conduct its 1967 Firemen's Bazaar at Brown Street Athletic Field, the week of June 26th-July 1st.
