<br />I5H <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 11. 1967 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br /> <br />Virginia, with Dr. Fred T. Renick, Mayor, presiding, was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />April 11, 1967, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br />with all members being present, viz., Mayor Fred T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor <br />E. E. Stone; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and Francis T. West. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held March 28, 1967. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland reported that "trial" service has been instituted by <br /> <br />City Transit Company for public transportation along Clearview Drive, Annory <br /> <br />Road, and Stultz Road, these being areas not previously served but for which <br /> <br />requests rave been made. <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's report and recommendation <br /> <br /> <br />dated April 6, 1967, Council called for a public hearing to be conducted May 9, <br /> <br /> <br />1967, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, on the proposed <br /> <br /> <br />rezoning to "M-1 Industrial" of property owned by Graves Supply Company, <br /> <br />petitioner, which property fronts the south side of Memorial Boulevard North <br /> <br />for a distance of 190 feet and is bounded on the east side by site presently <br /> <br />occupied by Graves Supply Company and on the west side by the House of <br /> <br />Furniture. <br /> <br />Also, in tentative acceptance of the Planning Commissionrs recommendation, <br /> <br />Council scheduled a joint public hearing (with the Planning Commission) to <br /> <br /> <br />be conducted May 9, 1967, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br /> <br />on the Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company's application (filed March 14, <br /> <br />1967) for a "special-use" permit to conduct its 1967 Firemen's Bazaar at <br /> <br /> <br />Brown Street Athletic Field, the week of June 26th-July 1st. <br />
