<br />4 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 10. 1966 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held Tue sday ,May 10, 1966, beginning <br /> <br />at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, All members of Council were <br /> <br />present, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Thomas J. <br /> <br />Burch; Harry L. Boaz; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held April 26, 1966. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a report from the Planning Commission, indicating <br /> <br />that the Commission will conduct duly-advertised public hearings on May 19, 1966, <br />on the following petitions: <br />(1) Special-use permit to allow apartment complex development on north <br />side of Spruce Street, near intersection with Brookdale Road <br /> <br />Virginia Landmark Corporation, petitioner; <br /> <br />(2) Special-use permit to allow apartment complex development on north <br /> <br />side of East Church Street Extended, opposite Patrick Henry Elementary <br /> <br />School and First Presbyterian Church -- Stratford Square Apartments <br /> <br />(Mr. R. T. Hamre, Jr.), petitioner; <br />(3) Rezoning to IIP-2 Professional" of S. Kolodny Estate properties along <br /> <br />south side of South Moss Street, between West Church Street and <br /> <br />Gravely Street; and <br /> <br />(4) Special-use permit to allow dental-office occupancy of quarters at <br /> <br />14 South Moss Street -- Mr. Leonard W. Hurrell, petitioner. <br /> <br />By action taken April 26, 1966, Council had already called for a duly-advertised <br /> <br />public hearing on the Virginia Landmark Corporation petition, to be held May 17, <br /> <br />1966, at 7:30 P.M.; whereupon motion, Council directed that duly-advertised <br />
