<br />12 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 8, 1966 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held Tuesday, February 8, <br /> <br />1966, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, and with all <br /> <br />members being present, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor F. T. Renick; <br /> <br />Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held January 25, 1966. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notices, Council conducted public hearings <br /> <br />on the following matters on which the Planning Commission had previously <br /> <br />reported its recommendations for approval: <br /> <br />(1) Petition of Lacy Manufacturing Company to rezone certain of its <br /> <br />property on the east side of Adele Street to IIM-2 Industrial"; <br /> <br />(2) Petition of North Martinsville Pentecostal Holiness Church to <br /> <br />rezone its property between Liberty Street and Lester Lane to <br /> <br />IIC-3 Commercial"; and <br /> <br />(3) Petition of Druid Lanes Bowling Center to amend the Zoning Code <br /> <br />to permit operation of a billiard parlor as secondary use in <br /> <br />conjunction with the bowling center (in the same building). <br /> <br />There being no objections registered to any of these proposals, Council <br /> <br />unanimously adopted the following ordinances effecting these amendments <br /> <br />to the Zoning Code: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this eighth day of February, 1966, that <br />the Zoning Code and the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be, <br />and are, hereby amended to reclassify--for zoning purposes--to <br />"M-2 Industrial" those certain properties owned by Lacy Manufacturing <br />Company, Inc., not heretofore so zoned and consisting of Lots Nos. 11, <br />12, 13-B, 14-B, and 15-B as shown on IIPlat of Survey" prepared <br />October 22, 1965, by J. A. Gustin & Associates, which lots are <br />situated on the east side of Adele Street. <br />
