<br />~7 () <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 26, 1971 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />October 26, 1971, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., <br /> <br />all members being present, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor <br /> <br />Francis T. West; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held October 12, 1971. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered by anyone, Council accepted the <br /> <br />recommendations submitted October l2, 1971, by the Plumbing Code Revision <br /> <br />Committee, by unanimously adopting the following ordinance (introduced <br /> <br />October 12, 1971) amending the City's Building Code and adopting the 1971 <br /> <br />edition of the Southern Standard Plumbing Code as the City's official <br /> <br />plumbing code: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by a report submitted through the City Manager of Martinsville <br />to the Martinsvi1le City Council on October 12, 1971, a duly-appointed <br />Plumbing Code Revision Committee recommended that the 1971 edition of <br />the Southern Standard Plumbing Code be adopted by the Council of the <br />City of Martinsville as the official Plumbing Code of said City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after due consideration, the Council of the City of Martinsville <br />has accepted the recommendations of said Plumbing Code Revision Committee; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA: <br /> <br />(1) That the 1971 edition of the Southern Standard Plumbing Code be, <br />and the same is hereby, adopted as the Plumbing Code of the City <br />of Martinsville, being identified as "Part II, Plumbing" of the <br />Building Code of the City of Martinsville ("Building Code, <br />Martinsville, 1967"); and <br /> <br />(2) That the Administration Chapter as now exists in the City's <br />current Plumbing Code is hereby retained and made a part of <br />the City's official Plumbing Code; and <br /> <br />(3) That the hereinabove-adopted 1971 edition of the Southern <br />Standard Plumbing Code shall become effective January 1, 1972. <br />
