Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, July 14,

1970, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members

being present, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor Francis T. West;

Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and William D. Hobson.

,-

After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular

meeting held June 23, 1970 and of its special meeting held June 29, 1970.

Pursuant to Council's instructions from its meeting held June 23, 1970, City

Manager Noland presented an analysis of bids recently received for the several

parcels of land in the vicinity of the former City incinerator plant, near

Smith River, with Council--in acceptance of the City Manager's report and

recommendations--unanimously accepting the highest bids received, viz.,

(1) Parcel "N' - $7,001.00 - P & P Supply Company;

(2) Parcel ttBII - $1,820.00 - Frost & Company, Inc; and

(3) Parcel lIC" - $1,251.00 - P & P Supply Company.

,-

Upon recommendation of City Manager Noland and Public Works Director George W.

Brown, Council selected the suggested curb-and-gutter projects, for which

petitions have been filed, for the current 1970-71 construction year, representing

some 15,150 linear feet against funds appropriated for some 13,000 feet,

anticipating that not all projects will qualify during the current year.
