<br />rtn- <br />!.nJ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 10, 1976 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsvi1le, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor Harry L. Boaz presiding, was held Tuesday, August 10, 1976, <br /> <br />in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being <br /> <br />present, viz., Harry L. Boaz, Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice Mayor; <br /> <br />G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; Barry A. Greene; and Morton W. Lester. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held July 27, 1976. <br /> <br />Pursuant to report of the Planning Commission, dated August 6, 1976, Council <br /> <br />continued its consideration of the Martinsvi11e Corvette Club's June 8th <br /> <br />Application for a Special-Use Permit, on which Application a duly-advertised <br /> <br />public hearing is scheduled to be conducted by Council at its forthcoming <br /> <br />August 24th meeting. In its report, the Planning Commission noted that the <br /> <br />Corvette Club's proposed Bicycle "Autocross"~ scheduled for September 18th <br /> <br />at Liberty Heights Fairgrounds, for which the Special-Use Permit is sought, <br /> <br />conflicts with the Exchange Club's scheduled Martinsvi1le-Henry County Fair at <br /> <br />this same location during the week of September 13th-18th. <br /> <br />In connection with the property rezoning request filed with Council on May ll~ <br /> <br />1976, by Messrs. William C. & Donald H. Edwards, seeking the rezoning of <br /> <br />petitioner's property at 208 Fayette Street from "C-2" to "C-3", on which-- <br /> <br />under date of June 18~ 1976--the Planning Commission had recommended denial <br /> <br />but, also, had recommended the amending of the "C-2" zoning regulations to <br /> <br />;. <br />
