I', ,r:~ ,. ltJtJ TUESDAY MARCH 23, 1976 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsvi1le, Virginia, with Mayor Harry L. Boaz presiding, was held Tuesday, March 23, 1976, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., Harry L. Boaz, Mayor; William D. Hobson~ Vice Mayor; G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; Barry A. Greene; and Morton W. Lester. After the invocation~ Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular meeting held March 9, 1976. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on a petition filed (December 30~ 1975) by Dr. William M. Chadduck, and as amended by the Planning Commission in its recommendation for approva1~ dated February 23, 1976~ seeking the rezoning of certain property in the Jones Creek area, hereinafter more specifically identified. There being no objections registered by anyone, and upon motion (duly seconded and unanimously carried), Council adopted the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Map to reflect the following rezoning of said property: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville~ Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-third day of March, 1976, that the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsvil1e, Virginia be--and is hereby--amended to effect and reflect a "P-2 Professional" zoning of that certain area bounded on the west by Northside Drive, on the north by Jones Creek, on the east by property owned by Appalachian Power Company~ and on the south by Donovant Street, being more specifically that area situated across Northside Drive opposite property presently occupied by The Children's Playhouse and adjacent to property on the north presently zoned "C-1 Commercial" and property on the east presently zoned "M-2 Industrial".
