<br />n <br />4, <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 6, 1975 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting (rescheduled in lieu of meeting scheduled <br /> <br />for May 13, 1975) of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with <br /> <br />Mayor Harry L. Boaz presiding, was held Tuesday, May 6, 1975, in the Council <br /> <br />Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., <br /> <br />Harry L. Boaz, Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice-Mayor; G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; <br /> <br />Barry A. Greene; and Morton W. Lester. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held April 22, 1975 and of its special meeting held April 25, <br /> <br />1975. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council continued for <br /> <br />consideration in Executive Session the matter of selecting a CPA firm to <br /> <br />conduct an audit of the City's financial records for the fiscal year ending <br /> <br />June 30, 1975. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a preliminary report on two Federal programs, viz., <br /> <br />(1) "Older Americans" and (2) "Agency on Aging", including reference to a <br /> <br />recent report prepared thereon by the West Piedmont Planning District <br /> <br />Commission. Council was informed that additional information on this <br /> <br />subject, including the questions of sponsorship, organization and funding, <br /> <br />would be presented in the near future. <br /> <br />Council referred to the Martinsvi1le-Henry County Chamber of Commerce an <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />inquiry as to whether the City might wish to participate in the International <br />
