10 MARCH 25, 1975 TUESDAY The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor Harry L. Boaz presiding, was held Tuesday, March 25, 1975, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., Harry L. Boaz, Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice-Mayor; G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; Barry A. Greene; and Morton W. Lester. After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular meeting held March 11, 1975 and of its special meeting held March 17, 1975. In acknowledging a report from the Martinsville Planning Commission, pertaining to a proposed and new Comprehensive Plan for the City of Martinsville, as recently completed by Wiley & Wilson, Consulting Engineers, Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing on said Comprehensive Plan, including modifications thereof and including certain proposed revisions to the City's Zoning Ordinance and the City's Subdivision Ordinance, at Council's forthcoming April 22nd meeting. In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation dated March 21, 1975, regarding the Martinsville Exchange Club's recently-filed Application for a Special-Use Permit, to allow said Club to conduct and operate the Martinsville-Henry County Fair at Liberty Heights Fairgrounds, Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted on said application jointly with the Planning Commission at Council's forthcoming April 22nd meeting. Pursuant to suggested usage and allocation of unappropriated Revenue-Sharing funds, in the approximate sum of $317,000.00, Council appropriated for 1974-75 Police personnel salaries the sum of $132,000.00 and for Fire Department personnel salaries the sum of $185,000.00, also for fiscal 1974-75.
