AGENDA <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA <br /> <br />City Council Chamber - Municipal Building <br />7:30 P.M. -Tuesday, November 28, 2000 <br /> <br />Invocation - Council Member Bruce H.T. Dallas <br /> <br />I. Recognition of various individuals/businesses for their contribu- <br /> tions to the City and Community, as follows: <br /> <br />Presentations to the Virginia State Police, Bureau of Alcohol, <br />Tobacco & Firearms, Division of Forensic Lab and U.S. <br />Attorney for their assistance and cooperation with the Police <br />Department during 2000. (See Enclosure # 1) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Chief of Police Mike Rogers has invited repre- <br />sentatives from each of these to the meeting to receive this <br />recognition. <br /> <br />Adoption of a Resolution recognizing Branch Banking & Trust <br />(BB&T) for their donation of the old YMCA building to the City <br />and the lease of the 3rd floor of their main office on Ellsworth <br />Street to the Martinsville Redevelopment & Housing Authority. <br />(See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Mr. Gil Carter of BB&T will attend Council's <br />meeting to receive this Resolution. <br /> <br />Adoption of a Resolution recognizing the Haskell family and <br />Martinsville Bulletin for their donations/grants to various <br />community organizations. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Mr. George Harris, General Manager of The <br />Martinsville Bulletin, will attend Council's meeting to receive <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />II. Business from the floor. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />Consider a presentation by Sherry Ramsey, Executive Director of <br />Patrick Henry Development Council, of their new marketing tool <br />known as a BIZ Card and other recent economic development <br />efforts. <br /> <br />IV. Conduct a Public Hearing and consider adoption of a Resolution on <br /> the proposed Enterprise Zone application to be submitted jointly <br /> <br /> <br />
