130

TUESDAY

FEBRUARY 23, 1960

The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martimville,

Virginia, with Mayor John W. Shultz presiding, was held in the Council Chamber,

City Hall, Tuesday, February 23, 1960, at 3:30 P.M., with all members being

present with the exception of Councilman Clarence C. Donavant, viz., Mayor and

Councilman John W. Shultz; Vice-Mayor and Councilman E. E. Stone; and Councilmen

Thomas J. Burch and J. Frank Wilson. The hour of this meeting, originally

scheduled for 6:30 P.M. and then rescheduled for 6:00 P.M., was changed to 3:30

P.M. by order of Council.

After the invocation, Council approved as read the minutes of its regular meeting
held February 9, 1960.

Consideration of the proposed revision of the "Animals and Fowl" section of the

City Code was continued in order to provide opportunity for interested persons to

appear before Council before enactment.

Pursuant to Council's February 9th request of City Attorney Taylor as to determi-

nation of the City's responsibility to the property owners involved in the change

of elevation of an alleyway off Minor Street, the City Attorney advised that the

City does not own aIW part of the alleyway and, presumably, would have no res-

ponsibility in the matter.

Upon motion, duly secorrled and unanimously carried, Council authorized for City

Manager Hirst's signature am execution on behalf of the City, subject to City

Attorney Taylor's approval, certain agreements and documents with the Ramsey-

Baldwin Corporation providing for the clOSing and vacating of that portion of

------------------------.---.,-----
