<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />~J., 1959 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the C oune il of the City of Marti ns viI Ie , <br /> <br />V:irginia, with Mayor John VI. Shultz presiding, was held in the COUJ:'X:il Chamber, <br /> <br />City Hall, Tuesday, June 9, 1959, at 6:30 P.M., all members beirg present, as <br /> <br />follows: Mayor and Councilman John W. Shultz; Vice-Mayor and Councilman E. E. <br /> <br />Stone; and Councilmen Thomas J. BUJ::"ch and Clarence C. Donavant. <br /> <br />After the invocation, C01.IDcil approved as read the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meetir~ held May 26, 1959 and of its special meeting hold June 3, 1959. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, C oun:: il placed upon third <br /> <br />and flnal reading--and adopted--a proposed gas utility franchise ordinance as <br /> <br />placed on second reading May 26, 1959, amended to include the following revis ion <br /> <br />of Section 16 of said franchise ordinance: <br /> <br />Section 16. Transfer of Franchise. No Sale, transfer, disposition <br />or assignment of a franchise granted under this ordinance shall be <br />effective unless the grantee shall file with the city manager <br />written notice of the proposed sale, transfer, disposition or <br />assignment, such notice to clearly summarize the proposed procedure <br />and the terms and conditions thereof. The proposed vendee, grantee <br />or lessee shall similarly file an instrument, duly executed, reciting <br />such proposal, accepting the terms of this franchise and agreeing to <br />perform all of the conditions thereof. <br />
