English to membership on the City School Board for a term expiring July 1, 1962. <br /> <br />Council continued for further study proposed anti-noise regulations and ordinance <br /> <br />revis ions. <br /> <br />In response to a plea from the Commission on Human Values, presented by ]"'frs. He len <br /> <br />Ford Taylor (Mrs. C. E. Taylor, Jr.), a member of the Corr.mission, Council went on <br /> <br />record as endorsing and enthusiastically supporting the Hartinsville Junior Chamber <br /> <br />01' Commerce in their current campaign to construct a recreation facility (building) <br /> <br />to be located on Cleveland Avenue adjacent to the site for a proposed new school <br /> <br />gymna.sium. Coureil also received the Commission's request that the two vacancies <br /> <br />noy, existing on the Commission be filled in the linmediate future. <br /> <br />In response to a request filed by Wilson Street Pentecostal Holiness Church, <br /> <br />Council ordered changed to Wilson Street that portion of what has heretofore been <br /> <br />lenaI'm C'.s Park Street from and between Memorial Boulevard and Woodrovr Street. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged with appreciation Highway Commissioner S. D. May's May 21st <br /> <br />letter regarding the district highvray hearing held that date. <br /> <br />In connection 'I'ri th the planned rebuilding of the section of Chatham Road (Route 57) <br /> <br /> <br />from East Church Streot (Route 58) east to Bob Gregory Street, Council indicated <br /> <br /> <br />that it will prohibit parking on that section if the project is approved and <br /> <br /> <br />completed by the State and Federal Governments and if, after construction, adequate <br /> <br /> <br />egres~; and ingress for driveways is afforded adjoining property owners. <br />
