<br />420 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 13. 1965 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held Tuesday, July 13, <br /> <br />1965, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, with all <br /> <br />members being present, as follows: Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Dr. F. T. Renick, <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor; Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, the Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held June 22, 1965. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a Public Hearing <br /> <br />on a proposal to amend side-yard requirements of residential corner lots of <br /> <br />record prior to adoption of the current Zoning Ordinance and, there being <br /> <br />no objections registered to this proposal--which carried the Planning <br /> <br />Commission's approval--Council adopted the following ordinance amending the <br /> <br />Zoning Ordinance to effect said proposal: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this thirteenth day of July, 1965, that <br />the Zoning Code of the City of Martinsville, adopted March 24, 1964 <br />(and as amended), be and is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION IV. NONCONFORMITY (Subsection B-1) <br />The second and third sentences of this three-sentence <br />subsection are hereby deleted. <br /> <br />SECTION VI. <br />To read as <br />sentence: <br />For corner lots of record, however, prior to the date <br />of adoption of this ordinance, the side-yard required <br />for structures other than multifamily and apartments, <br />adjacent to an intersecting street, shall be thirty <br />(30) feet in R-16 residential districts and twenty (20) <br />feet in R-9 and in R-6 residential districts. <br /> <br />DIMENSION REGULATIONS (Subsection B-5) <br />adopted, plus the following additional <br />
