420 TUESDAY JULY 13. 1965 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held Tuesday, July 13, 1965, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, with all members being present, as follows: Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Dr. F. T. Renick, Vice-Mayor; Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. After the invocation, the Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meeting held June 22, 1965. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a Public Hearing on a proposal to amend side-yard requirements of residential corner lots of record prior to adoption of the current Zoning Ordinance and, there being no objections registered to this proposal--which carried the Planning Commission's approval--Council adopted the following ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance to effect said proposal: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this thirteenth day of July, 1965, that the Zoning Code of the City of Martinsville, adopted March 24, 1964 (and as amended), be and is hereby amended as follows: SECTION IV. NONCONFORMITY (Subsection B-1) The second and third sentences of this three-sentence subsection are hereby deleted. SECTION VI. To read as sentence: For corner lots of record, however, prior to the date of adoption of this ordinance, the side-yard required for structures other than multifamily and apartments, adjacent to an intersecting street, shall be thirty (30) feet in R-16 residential districts and twenty (20) feet in R-9 and in R-6 residential districts.
