<br />42 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 13. 1965 <br /> <br />.,"-' <br /> <br />Pursuant, also, to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on a proposal--carrying the Planning Commissionls approval--to rezone <br /> <br />to l1P-2 Professionall1 (three) lots fronting the south side of Brown Street <br /> <br />within the block between Maple Street and Ellsworth Street. There being no <br /> <br />objections registered, Council adopted the following ordinance amending the <br /> <br />Zoning Code and Zoning Map to effect said zoning reclassification: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this thirteenth day of July, 1965, that <br />the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be, and <br />is hereby, amended to reflect a zoning reclassification to rrp-2 <br />Professionalll of those lots--being three in number--fronting the <br />south side of Brown Street in the block between Maple Street and <br />Ellsworth Street. <br /> <br />Attorney William F. Stone appeared before Council, in behalf of Mr. C. Harry <br /> <br />Anglin1s CATV franchise proposal previously discussed with Council, and urged <br /> <br />Council to proceed with the advertising for CATV franchise bids. Council was <br /> <br />informed ty City Manager Hirst that a preliminary draft of a CATV franchise <br /> <br />has been prepared although somewhat yet incomplete and that a draft of a <br /> <br />utility pole rental attachment agreement is yet to be prepared. Mr. William <br /> <br />Lawless, of Skywaves TV Service, appeared before Council and presented a <br /> <br />number of points for consideration in preparing a CATV franchise, which (points) <br /> <br />Council referred to City Attorney Cubine. <br /> <br />At the request of Attorney J. English Ford, representing Mr. Strother Fulcher, <br /> <br />Council continued the matter of non-conformity with the City1s building <br /> <br />set-back requirements involving a gasoline service station being constructed <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />by Mr. Fulcher on Route 220 North. <br />
