<br />Hi <br /> <br />JUNE 1 8. 1 968 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, June 18, <br /> <br />1968, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., with all <br /> <br />members being present with the exception of Mr. W. Donald Hartford, viz., <br /> <br />Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor E. E. Stone; Harry L. Boaz; and Francis <br /> <br />T. West. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting, as set forth in the notice thereon, was to conduct <br /> <br />a duly-advertised public hearing on a proposed budget for the City for the <br /> <br />fiscal year ending June 30, 1969, and to act thereon as deemed appropriate; and <br /> <br />to consider ITlatters to be brought to the attention of the Constitutional Study <br /> <br />Commission, which will conduct a regional hearing in Roanoke, Virginia, June 21, <br /> <br />1968. <br /> <br />Inasmuch as no one appeared in opposition to--or to inquire about--the budget <br /> <br />as revised and balanced, Council unanimously (of members present) adopted said <br /> <br />balanced budget by means of the following appropriation ordinance, noting that <br /> <br />not only will the budget provide a continuation and improvement of services and <br /> <br />facilities but also reflects a reduction in business license rates, with no <br /> <br />increase in any other forms of taxation: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS OF SUMS OF MONEY FOR ANN NECESSARY <br />EXPENDITURES OF THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA, FOR ITS FISCAL YEAR <br />ENDING JUNE 30, 1969. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />that the following SQ~S of money be and are hereby appropriated by funds <br />for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1969, from fund sources of estimated <br />revenue as follows: <br /> <br />Anticipated Balances <br />General <br />School Fund <br />Electric Fund <br /> <br />Appropriations <br />at 7 - 1 -68 : <br />$ <br /> <br />REV E N U E <br />Contributions <br />and <br />Direct Transfers <br /> <br />$ <br /> <br />306,500.00 $ 306,500.00 <br />48,000.00 <br /> <br />53,158.39) 53,158.39) <br />
