<br />~-- l! <br /> <br />, ) <br />~) <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 14, 1969 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, October 14, <br /> <br />1969, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members <br /> <br />being present, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor Francis T. West; Harry <br /> <br />L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held September 17, 1969 and of its special meeting held October 2, 1969. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on <br /> <br />the Planning Commission's recommended revisions (as revised) to Subsections "c" <br /> <br />and "D" of Section V of the Zoning Ordinance. There being no objections registered <br /> <br />by anyone to the recommended revisions, Council unanimously adopted the following <br /> <br />ordinance effecting said revisions: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvi11e, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this fourteenth day of October, 1969, that <br />portions of Subsections "c" and "D" of Section V of the City's Zoning <br />Ordinance be--and are hereby--amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(C. R9 Residential District) <br />3. Day Nurseries operated as an Incidental Home Occupation, <br />caring for not more than six children, with an outdoor play <br />area equivalent to at least one hundred square feet per child. <br /> <br />(D. R6 Residential District) <br />(Add the following as number "4" and re-number present "4" to <br />"5", present "5" to "6", present "6" to "7", and present <br />117" to "8") <br /> <br />4. Child Care Conters; provided, <br />a. That no building so used shall be closer than 50 feet <br />to any side or rear line; <br />b. That a safe, sanitary and fenced play area be provided <br />equivalent to 100 sq. ft. per child; <br />c. That an indoor play space of 20 sq. ft. per child and <br />200 cu. ft. of air space per child be provided; <br />d. That off-street parking be provided on the basis of one <br />space for each employee and two spaces for visiting <br />medical and/or dental personnel; and <br />e. That off-street loading and/or unloading area be provided <br />equivalent to 150 sq. ft. per child. <br />
