t -~ .. .;./' , . ~. ./~ TUESDAY JUNE 12, 1973 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor Francis T. West presiding, was held Tuesday, June 12, 1973, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., Mayor Francis T. West; Harry L. Boaz, Vice Mayor; W. Donald Hartford; William D. Hobson; and Morton W. Lester. After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meeting held May 22, 1973 and of its special meeting held May 31, 1973. Before beginning its regular order of business, Council recognized Mr. Luther A. Wolfe, who retired on May 31, 1973 as Central Garage Foreman after twenty-six years service with the City; and, through Mayor West, presented to Mr. Wolfe a gift as token of the City's appreciation of Mr. Wolfe's long and faithful service as a City employee. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on a petition filed March 13, 1973 by the A,E&A Corporation (represented by Mr. Benjamin R. Gardner, Attorney at Law and by Mr. Douglas K. Frith, Attorney at Law), requesting the rezoning to "P-2" of petitioner's property at 409 East Church Street. There being no objections registered by anyone to this requested rezoning, and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's May 18th recommendation that petition be approved, Council effected said rezoning through its unanimous adoption of the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Map: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twelfth day of June, 1973, that the City's Zoning Code and Zoning Map be--and are hereby amended--so as to effect a "P-2 Professional" zoning for that property located at 409 East Church Street, for and on behalf of A,E&A Corporation, owners.
