<br />r'; <br />d. <br /> <br />August 29, 2006 <br /> <br />A special called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, was held on August 29, 2006, in Council Chamber, Municipal <br /> <br />Building, beginning at 1:30 P. M., with Mayor Kimble Reynolds, Jr. presiding. <br /> <br />Council Members present included: Kimble Reynolds, Jr., Mayor; James W. <br /> <br />Clark, Vice Mayor and Council Members Mark T. Anderson, J. Ronald Ferrill <br /> <br />and Kathy C. Lawson. Mayor Reynolds opened the meeting. <br /> <br />Council first considered appointment of a citizen to the newly formed <br /> <br />Steering Committee relative to the J. Frank Wilson Park. Mayor Reynolds read <br /> <br />the list of citizens who had submitted their names for consideration as follows: <br /> <br />Lisa Anderson <br />Carolyn Beal <br />Mary Blankenship <br />Rives Coleman <br />Bruce Dallas <br />Will Gravely <br />Phyllis Karavatakis <br />Steve Lemons <br />Geri Ridenhour <br />Mary Sherrard <br /> <br />1102 Knollwood Place <br />509 Mulberry Road <br />1514 Church Street Extension <br />603 Mulberry Road <br />211 Massey Street <br />1101 Mulberry Road <br />505 Mulberry Road <br />1204 Corn Tassel Trail <br />1231 Mulberry Road <br />1518 Church Street Extension <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Clark indicated that Danny Turner of 1807 East Church <br /> <br />Street Extension had contacted him and that he be added to the list. After <br /> <br />discussion concerning the number of citizens to appoint and the need to solicit <br /> <br />citizens from other areas of the City, Council Member Ferrill moved to amend <br /> <br />the number of citizens to be appointed from one to three; the motion was duly <br /> <br />seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 4-1. <br /> <br />Yeas (4) - Clark, Anderson, Ferrill, Lawson. Nays (1) - Reynolds. Mayor <br />
