August 27, 2002 A regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, was held on August 27, 2002, in Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, beginning at 7:34 P. M., with Mayor Gene Teague presiding. Council Members present included: M. Gene Teague, Mayor; Terry L. Roop, Vice Mayor; and Council Members Joseph R. Cobbe, Bruce H. T. Dallas, and J. Ronald Ferrill. Following the invocation by Council Member Dallas and the Pledge to the American Flag, Mayor Teague welcomed everyone to the meeting. He recognized Rodney Meeks, who is working on the "Citizenship in the Community" requirement of the Eagle Scout designation. Council Member Dallas moved to approve the minutes of the August 13, 2002, meeting as presented; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. Council considered adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance 2002-10 to amend Zoning Ordinance Section XIII, Business and Manufacturing Districts. Council Member Ferrill moved to adopt the following Ordinance, on second reading; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following roll call vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARTINSVlLLE, VIRGINIA, in regular session assembled August 13, 2002, that the City of Martinsville Zoning Ordinance, Section XIII, Business and Manufacturing Districts, be amended, revised, and reordained to read as follows: Section Xlll, Business and Manufacturing Districts, ordinance text as given herein. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed. (Attachment A)
