234 <br />TUESDAY, September 26, 2000 <br /> <br />Council considered rescheduling the October 24, 2000 regular Council Meeting due to a conflict with the <br />VML Conference. Council moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members voting: Vote 4-0; Yeas (4)- <br />Crabtree, Teague, Dallas, and Roop; Nays (0)- None; Absent (1) - Ferrill, to reschedule the Council Meeting <br />for Monday, October 30, 2000. <br /> <br />Next, Council considered the Consent Agenda with the following items: <br /> <br />Set a Public Heating for October 10, 2000, on an Ordinance amending Chapter 21--Taxation, <br />Article III--Tax on Purchasers of Utility Services of the City Code in response to a new State <br />requirement that the City's electric customers be taxed on a per kilowatt hour basis instead of the <br />current practice of being taxed on the amount of the electric bill. <br /> <br />Accept and appropriate $172.89 of State Forfeited Asset Funds into Revenue 01101917- <br />442401 Confiscated Assets/Police for Expenditure 01311085-506078--State Asset Forfeiture <br />in the FY 2000-01 General Fund Budget for the Police Department. <br /> <br />Accept and appropriate $26,437 from the U.S. Department of Justice for a Local Law <br />Enforcement Block Grant into Revenue 01102926-436403--LLBG for Expenditure 01311085 ~ <br />506016 --Program Supplies/LLEBG in the FY2000-01 General Fund Budget for the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />Council moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members voting: Vote 4-0; Yeas (4)- Crabtree, Teague, <br /> <br />Dallas, and Roop; Nays (0)- None; Absent (1) - Fen-ill, the three Consent Agenda items. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session for the <br />purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> 1. Board of Zoning Appeals (Two 3-Year Terms). <br /> <br /> 2. Industrial Development Authority (One 4-Year Term) <br /> <br /> 3. Southem Area Agency on Aging Board (One 3-Year Term) <br /> <br /> B. A personnel matter under the jurisdiction of the City Manager, as authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br /> <br />
