~'April 25, 2000 <br /> <br /> Council considered setting work sessions for them to review the City's <br /> Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2000-200t. By general consensus with no vote taken, <br /> the following work sessions were scheduled: <br /> <br /> Tuesday, May 16, 2000, 5:30- 9:00 P. M. <br /> Thursday, May 18, 2000, 2:00- 6:00 P. M. <br /> Monday, May 22, 2000, 5:30 - 9:00 P. M. <br /> Thursday, May 25, 2000, 9:00 A. M. - 4:00 P. M. <br /> Thursday, June 1, 2000, 9:00 A. M. -4:00 P. M. <br /> <br /> Council directed final scheduling to Earl B. Reynolds, Jr., City Manager. Council <br /> requested that all funded agencies possibly present on the same day and the School <br /> Board be placed first on the agenda of a particular work session. <br /> <br /> Mayor Crabtree distributed a report from the Salvation Army and stated, "Their <br />demands are decreasing." Council Member Haskell stated, "We still need to be alert <br />that people's benefits are running out." <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Teague stated, "I'd like to commend Mike Rogers [Chief of Police] <br />and his department for what they're doing. They're working hard on the streets for us." <br />Council Member Dallas added, "1 have the utmost confidence in our Police Department <br />and staff." Chief Rogers replied, "The men and women of the Police Department <br />appreciate the comments." <br /> <br /> Mrs. Carter asked, "Have you received any feedback from the Dr. Lewis [David <br />O.] and his dental project?" City Manager Reynolds replied, "He's developing the grant <br />application. The hospital hasn't approved it, yet. The County of Henry's budget won't <br />be presented until May 18, 2000." <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session.
