SWIMMING POOLS: <br /> <br />§ 20-4 <br /> <br /> (2) Type "B": Country club and institutional pools, such as for girl scouts, boy scouts, <br /> YMCA, YWCA, campfire girls, boys' camps, girls' camps and for other similar type <br /> usage. <br /> <br /> (3) Type "C": Pools for hotels, apartments and motels of more than one hundred (100) <br /> units. <br /> <br /> (4) Type "D": Pools for motels and apartments, multiple housing units, and hotels of less <br /> than one hundred (100) units, not open to the general public. <br /> <br /> (5) Type "E": Treatment pools, therapeutic pools and special pools for water therapy. <br /> <br /> Swimming pool or pooL- Any swimming, wading or spray pool, including all appurte.n~n~ <br />equipment, structures and facilities, for the purpose of providing a swimming~ b~th~i~g~ or <br />wading place for any person or persons. <br />(Ord. of 5-10-77, § 9-1.3) <br /> <br />Sec. 20-2. Purpose of chapter. <br /> <br /> The purpose of this chapter is to provide for regulations relating to the design, construc- <br />tion, alteration and maintenance of sanitation and safety features! applying to the~ use and <br />operation of constructed swimming pools, to provide for permits for the construction of swim- <br />ming pools, to provide for permits for the operation of public swimming pools, to provide for <br />the enforcement of this chapter and to provide a penalty for violations thereof. <br />(Ord. of 5-10:77, § 9-1.1) <br /> <br />Sec. 20-3. Violations of chapter. <br /> <br /> Unless otherwise specifically provided, a violation of any provision of this chapter shall <br />constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> Cross reference--Penalty for Class 1 misdemeanor, § 1-11. <br /> <br />Sec. 20-4. Application of chapter to pools constructed prior to May 10, 1977. <br /> <br /> The structural and equipment provisions and requirements of this chapter shall not apply <br />to any swimming pool constructed prior to May 10, 1977, except that: <br /> <br /> (1) When any condition exists in such swimming pool that would endanger the health, <br /> safety or life of any person, the director of public health shall have the authority to <br /> order such swimming pool closed until such condition is corrected. <br /> <br /> (2) When any alteration, placement or replacement of any equipment is made in any <br /> such swimming pool, such portion altered, placed or replaced shall comply with this <br /> chapter. <br /> <br /> (3) The provisions and requirements of this chapter with respect to fences, operational <br /> procedures and standards, chemical feeding equipment, flowmeters, pressure gauges, <br /> toilet facilities and lifeguards shall be complied with by all public swimming pools, <br /> regardless of date of construction. <br />(Ord. of 5-10-77, § 9-1.2) - <br /> <br />1187 <br /> <br /> <br />
